Spark™ Clear Aligners Bronx, NY
Riverdale, Westchester, Yonkers & Kingsbridge
Spark aligners are a series of clear aligner trays worn to straighten teeth. As an alternative to traditional braces, they offer discreet correction and greater comfort for teens and adults. Each aligner gently guides the teeth into their correct position, with the patient switching to a new aligner every few weeks as the teeth gradually shift into place. With Spark Aligners, we can correct crowding, bite issues, and mild to moderate misalignment.
Why Spark Aligners?
Spark Aligners offer greater comfort and discretion for those who want to improve their smile without committing to months or years of wearing metal brackets and wires. Spark Aligners provide several advantages over traditional braces, including:
- A nearly invisible appearance that won’t dim your smile.
- Comfortable, smooth edges for pain-free correction and less chance of injury to lips and cheeks.
- Spark aligners can be removed for eating and drinking, so there are no dietary restrictions.
- Fewer visits to our office are required because you can switch from one aligner to the next between appointments.
Spark Aligners™ vs. Invisalign®
While both Spark aligners and Invisalign use a series of customized trays to correct orthodontic problems gradually, there are some notable differences.
- Spark aligners use TruGEN™, a specialized plastic material that is clearer and more stain-resistant than Invisalign’s SmartTrack.
- Spark aligners are less likely to develop the cloudy appearance sometimes noticed with Invisalign aligners.
- While both are comfortable, when comparing Spark aligners vs. Invisalign for comfort, many patients report that the scalloped edges on Spark aligners are gentler on delicate gum tissues.
- Spark Aligners are generally less expensive than Invisalign.

The Treatment Process
After Dr. Schimmel evaluates your teeth, a set of Spark clear aligners is custom-designed to fit snugly over your teeth. Every few weeks, you switch to a new aligner, allowing your teeth to be gently moved a bit closer to their ideal position. You wear your aligners for 20-22 hours a day, removing them only to eat, brush, and floss. Every six to eight weeks, Dr. Schimmel will check your progress to ensure everything is progressing as it should.

SPARK ALIGNER FAQS
Spark Aligners are designed to correct many of the same issues as braces, including crowded teeth, gaps, overbites, underbites, crossbites, and open bites. I have treated teens and adults in the Bronx with Spark Aligners to straighten their smiles and improve their bites without the look of traditional braces.
Teens and adults with healthy teeth and gums are often excellent candidates for Spark Aligners. If you are looking for a nearly invisible treatment option and are committed to wearing your aligners 20 to 22 hours each day, Spark may be right for you. During your consultation I will evaluate your bite and let you know if Spark Aligners are the best choice for your needs.
The length of Spark Aligner treatment depends on the complexity of your case. Many patients see results in as little as 6 to 18 months, while more complex corrections may take longer. At your free consultation I will provide a treatment timeline based on your smile goals.
Spark Aligners and Invisalign are both clear aligner systems that move teeth effectively, but Spark uses a proprietary material that is designed to be clearer, more stain resistant, and more comfortable. Spark also offers precise trimming along the gumline for a better fit. Patients often find Spark Aligners less noticeable and more comfortable than other clear aligners.
To keep Spark Aligners clean and clear, remove them before eating or drinking anything other than water. Brush your teeth before putting the aligners back in to prevent food and plaque from being trapped. Rinse the aligners regularly and clean them with a soft toothbrush. Proper care ensures your aligners stay nearly invisible throughout treatment.
